Our program is based on the individuality of each child. Each child’s needs and learning abilities are placed at the forefront of our developmentally appropriate program. Preschool is a time of readiness, and students are provided the necessary tools and media needed for both social and academic growth. Young children are filled with an energy and curiosity about life and learning. At this level the child is eager and ready to make discoveries and become actively involved in his/her own learning experiences. Each day in preschool will include age appropriate, stimulating, and adventurous hands on experiences for your child.

• To respect and celebrate each child’s individuality by promoting feelings of self-worth and self-confidence through Christian love and values.

• To provide a challenging creative curriculum of daily activities that will fulfill the needs of each child.

Our program provides a varied curriculum of challenging, creative and age appropriate activities to fulfill the needs of each individual child. The curriculum includes learning centers, organized free play, language arts, phonetic awareness, math skills, cooking, science activities, social studies, dramatic play, music, arts and crafts, fine and gross motor development, social and emotional development, special activities, parties and more. All classrooms are equipped with computers and software for the children’s use. Each week students in the preschool program will attend several enrichment programs in addition to their regular weekly curriculum. Enrichment programs include:

• Sign Language
• Spanish
• Physical Education
• Chapel
• Smart Board Technology
• Science Program
• Library

In addition to learning about God in the classroom and our wonderful Christian environment, children attend Chapel in the sanctuary once each week. In Chapel, children hear Bible stories and learn Christian songs, some of which will be sung in school programs throughout the year. Each year the students participate in what we call our Preschool Sunday. The children sing songs they have been learning in Chapel at a scheduled Sunday service, which is a special event for the children, families and the congregation.

Throughout the school year there are many special activities and events, such as Preschool Sunday, our annual Preschool dance/auction evening, student Christmas pageant, birthday celebrations, fall costume parties, Thanksgiving program and Feast, and Easter. Once a week is “Show and Tell” where students delight in bringing in a special item from home. At the end of each year all students graduating from our 4 year old program participate in a full cap and gown graduation and commencement service complete with a music program performed by the students. At Grace we strive to make every day a fun learning adventure so each child goes home each day with a smile.

• Our low teacher to student ratio makes it possible for all children to receive one on one attention in the classroom.

• All of our lead teachers have a degree in education and/or a CDA certificate in Early education. All teachers are certified in First Aid and CPR.

• Our students are enthusiastic learners and our goal is to help each child grow up to be independent, self-confident, and inquisitive.

• Our teachers and staff members are well versed in the skills that children need to succeed in life and for kindergarten!
